TYPES OF ACCOMMODATION
There are various types of accommodation available for students in London. This variety includes:

Shared Houses and Flats:
This is the most usual form of accommodation. It generally means that you rent a room in a house and share the kitchen, lounge (if there is one), bathroom and toilet with the other residents. Amenities are shared between the occupants.

Self-contained Flats:
This is where the student occupies a flat where none of the facilities are shared. It would have its own kitchen, bathroom and toilet and may be of particular interest to those who are coming with partners and/or dependants.

Bedsits:
A bedsit is a room in which some form of amenity, normally a small kitchen or washing facility is provided. Bathrooms and toilet facilities are normally shared with other residents. This type of accommodation normally goes quickly so it is important to get in early.

Room in an Owners Home/ Board and Lodgings:
Some householders offer accommodation in their own homes. Arrangements can vary considerably from a room with use of kitchen and bathroom to meals being provided. House rules can be similarly varied and it is best to discuss the details with the owner/occupier.
In most cases you will need to sign a legally binding document for at least nine months so it is important to make the right choice.

ROOM OFFERS

Generally, accommodation should be organised in accordance with your expected date of arrival. Student accommodation is arranged through the Colleges list of recognised professional letting agents (contact us for more details). It is essential therefore that you inform the college of your flight details as soon as you have them so that the necessary arrangements can be made. An advance deposit may be payable prior to arrival to secure the accommodation of your choice.

It is important that you let the College know in advance if you have any specific preferences for the type of accommodation, or if you prefer to share a room, or live in a single sex environment for example so that these requirements can be passed on to the necessary agencies.

It is essential that you plan your arrival so that you are here well before your course is due to start so that you have adequate time to adjust before embarking on your studies.

Further details and instructions will be given with your room offer.

Please make sure that you contact the College if you plan to arrive before your course start date.
