Certificate in Administrative Management
This qualification is for individuals who want to prepare for a career in management in business administration. It gives individuals the knowledge and understanding to become a professional in business administration allowing you to understand how to get the most out of teams and maximise your personal development, equipping you for promotion to roles supervising and training others

Study
The Certificate is open to everyone, irrespective of qualifications, although some previous experience in business administration is usual. The Certificate requires 120 hours of study.
The Certificate is made up of three units:
Unit 1: Inside Organisations
Unit 2: Working with People
Unit 3: Administrative Practice
Assessment
There are two parts to the assessment for this qualification:
- Creation of a reflective learning diary related to the learning outcomes of each Unit that records evidence of skills for employment as well as academic achievements
- A Project Report of between 2000 and 2500 which must evidence application of learning from the programme syllabus and achievement of the overall Award learning outcomes.
Diploma in Administrative Management
This qualification is for individuals who wish to develop their understanding and improve their management skills by gaining the theoretical and practical understanding required by senior managers. It enables individuals to take a systematic approach to organisational and information management, to manage individuals, teams and projects effectively and take a leading role in identifying and implementing change for the better in your organisation

Study
The Diploma is open to anyone who has at least 2 years previous experience or relevant Certificate level qualifications from the iam or other bodies.
The award is made up of 5 units:
Unit 1:People in Organisations
Unit 2:Administative Systems and Processes
Unit 3: Professional Administration
Unit 4: Information for Decision Making
Unit 5: Case Study or Project Report

Assessment
The Units 1-4 are assessed by a three hour unseen written paper comprising two sections A and B. Section A has eight compulsory short answer questions designed to test candidates knowledge and understanding of concepts and terminology. Section B has a choice of two questions from four designed to assess the candidate's appreciation of the unit. A question will be set from each of the Learning Syllabus. Unit 5 is assesed by either by a three hour case study examination, or by a 3,000-4,000 word project report.
Project report declaration report
All candidates completing a project report for the diploma in administrative management or the advanced diploma in administrative management must complete the project report declaration form and submit it as the top page of their report.
Advanced Diploma in Administrative Management
This qualification is for individuals who want to use best practice tools and techniques to manage organisations. It enables individuals to operate comfortably and effectively at senior levels, making and implementing strategic decisions using your knowledge and experience creatively to deliver organisational improvements and prove your ability to operate as a senior manager.
You will learn how to:
- Use business models to design and implement effective systems
- Understand and apply strategic decision making skills
- Apply best practice in Human Resource Management
- Use financial and project management tools
- Manage finances and other resources
Study
The Advanced Diploma is open to anyone who has relevant Diploma level qualifications from the iam or other bodies.
The Advanced Diploma is made up of five units:
Unit 1: Administrative Systems in the Organisation
Unit 2: Strategic Issues in Administration
Unit 3: Administrative Management of Resources
Unit 4: Human Resource Management and Practice
Unit 5: Case Study 2 or Project Report 2
Assessment
The units 1-4 are assessed by a 3 hour closed book examination. The paper comprises of a choice of 4 questions from 8, designed to assess the depth and breadth of candidates knowledge of the unit. Unit 5 is assessed either by a three hour case study examination or by a 3,000-4,000 project report.
Project report declaration report
All candidates completing a project report for the advanced diploma in administrative management or the diploma in administrative management must complete the project report declaration form and submit it as the top page of their report.
Progression
Holders of the iam's Diploma and Advanced Diploma are eligible to enter the final year of the distance learning BA Business Management ‘top-up’ delivered by MDP and validated by the University of Wales.
Teeside Business School, University of Teeside recognises the Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Administrative Management for direct entry into their BA(Hons) Business Management and BA(Hons) International Business Management degree programmes and the Open University recognises the Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Administrative Management for credit towards their distance-taught qualifications.
