Aims of the course:
The course is specifically designed for System or Network professionals or those who want to start their career in Networking.
The course provides theoretical concepts and hands on practical experience relevant to the real world. Students will be able to design, implement and configure Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks and manage enterprise level networks.
Entry requirements:
The course is primarily designed to accommodate candidates who are either looking to enhance their IT skills by applying them to business, or to candidates from a business background looking to develop skills to enable them to diversify through the electronic media.
Students are normally expected to have received a good pass at undergraduate degree level, 2:1 or an equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification. Appropriate professional experience would be considered where relevant, and this is considered on an individual basis.
Course Structure:
This course consists of two modules, Module 1 and Module 2 each module has four units, at the end of the course student has to submit project work and sit a final examination. It is designed to be taught over 1 year on a full-time basis (16 GLH per week).

Assessment:
You are assessed using a range of methods: research reports, case studies, practical implementations and unseen examinations.

Career opportunities:
The course prepares graduates for careers in Networking Engineer, Network Administrator, System Administrator, Site Engineer and Network Security Specialist.
