Central Greenwich College is situated in the historic part of London.

The ship, the Mayflower sailed from this area for Massachusetts in 1620 with the group of emigrants that later became known as the "Pilgrim Fathers" who, in 1620, established became the second successful English settlement in what was to become the United States of America.. It has also been the setting of numerous television series and films, including the James Bond film 'Tomorrow Never Dies'

The college itself is also very near to Greenwich Park and Observatory, a World Heritage Site and from which point the worlds’ time zones are determined. Also close by are the O2 (formerly known as the Millennium Dome) and both London and Tower Bridges. Shakespeare, the great English author and playwright, also first wrote and performed many of his famous works in the Globe Theatre, which is situated on the nearby banks of the river Thames.

The proximity of the Jubilee Line means that all of the attractions of central London are a maximum of only 20 minutes away, including Buckingham palace, Westminster and Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and of course numerous opportunities to go shopping in Covent Garden, Camden Market or Oxford Street!

A similar distance away is Stratford, the site of the 2012 Olympics and many new developments are happening as part of the Olympic process.
As CGC is excellently situated near to many main lines of national travel, taking the opportunity to explore more of the UK is easily accomplished.

From the beaches of Britain (yes, we do have them, we even invented the seaside holiday!) to historic cities and stunning countryside, there is something for every interest. Central Greenwich College also regularly organises trips to places outside of London, such as Oxford or Stonehenge.
